We previously speculated on the song choices for We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration At The Lincoln Memorial, and boy were we wrong. In a surprise, Stevie Wonder went with "Higher Ground" rather than the theme song from Obama's campaign, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours." Both great songs,but maybe even Stevie was tired of hearing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered." And U2 went with "City Of Blinding Lights" and , in a nod to MLK day, "Pride In The Name Of Love", rather than what we assumed would be their choice, either "One" or "Beautiful Day." Oh, and that's another thing. Even though reports said all acts would be limited to one song each, U2 got two songs! They're not even American! Maybe it's all the work for the starving kids.

Anyway, this whole celebration went down and it sure was star-studded, although Steve Carell and Jamie Foxx reading texts about the Supreme Court left something to be desired. New York Magazine blogged on what went down off-camera at the concert, including this:

Sweetie, your father is Barack Obama, transformative figure. Maybe a Kal Penn sighting isn't such a biggie. Here's hoping, for the Obama's sake, she recognized Penn from House and not the unrated version of Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.

Steve Carell Buys A Massachusetts General Store

Steve Carell has just bought a 155-year-old General store in Marshfield Hills, Mass, where he lives part-time. The store will be run by Carell's sister-in law, but Carell wrote the Boston Globe that he will "be manning the cash register, and stocking the shelves as time permits!" How long before people ask for paper products, and then start giggling?

Casting Coup: Fey and Carell To Make a Movie

In a move that should please the fans of The Office and 30 Rock (a group that consists of, basically, every comedy fan out there), Steve Carell and Tina Fey have been cast together in the upcoming film Date Night. They'll play a married couple whose night on the town descends into chaos.

"I wanted to do a relatable, grounded character comedy about marriage and the lengths we go to preserve the spark," director Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) told Daily Variety. "Tina and Steve are smart and relatable, and the tone of their comedy perfectly fits this film."

Even better, this will make a perfect set for Fey -- she recently made another comedy, This Side of the Truth, with British Office star and creator Ricky Gervais. That one, about the first guy to learn how to lie in an all-truthful society, also contains a ridiculously talented supporting cast: Jennifer Garner, Jeffrey Tambor, Jonah Hill, Christopher Guest, Louis C.K. and writer/"P.C. Guy" John Hodgman.

Two comedy movies that should actually be funny? It's almost enough to get us to leave the house once in a while.

One of the best things about The Office is that the supporting characters are every bit as funny as the stars. So while it's great news that Steve Carell has signed on for another three years of the show -- and that Rashida Jones is set to head up a proposed spinoff -- it's also nice to know that we're getting new Internet mini-episodes featuring Oscar, Darryl and Kevin starting July 10. From the following preview, it's clear that Kevin needs a loan, and may or may not be going into the ice-cream business. Check it out:
