"Children's Hospital" Bangs Us In Our Medical Comedy Vagina

Guys, just to be clear -- when we say that, we're referring to something that Ed Helms says to Nate Corddry in this, the first episode of The WB's (that thing still exists?) raunchy, web-only 10-episode medical drama satire, which is the brainchild of The Daily Show's Rob Corddry and stars very funny people from Human Giant, Worst Week, and Arrested Development.

And just to be even more clear -- when Ed says that, he's referring to Megan Mulally playing a differently abled chief or surgery. Sound familiar? Yep. Also: awesomely tacky. So, you know, if you're easily offended, it ain't for you. But if you don't mind that sort of thing, and like the idea of a world that seems to be populated with Will Arnett clones, save for the two incredibly hot girls who seem destined to get it on, well... well... hang on, I think we just described heaven. Is there fried chicken?

The Weekly Rewind: Endless Summer

This week here at The Remote Island, we spent most of our time just trying to come up with fun stuff for you to watch. Because it's July, and the networks have pretty much given up for the summer. Sure, there's the last few episodes of Swingtown, which we're kind of hoping goes out with a giant orgy that leaves the characters far more satisfied than the show ever did for viewers. And there are reality competitions in which kids try to sing (or, even more difficult, sing country), or adults try to dance. (Frankly, we'd rather see somebody lose on Jeopardy.)

Meanwhile, summer programming on cable mainly consists of fun reality crapola, such as From G's to Gents, and about a dozen quirky detective shows, like the ones starring the Glamorous Ladies of TNT,

Mostly, though, they're all just trying to hang on till the upcoming fall season. Which we're excited about, too -- which is why we gave you loads of spoilerrific info on Dollhouse, Dexter, Life on Mars, CSI, Friday Night Lights and Robot Chicken: Star Wars.

For lack of anything better to watch, we sent you to the Internet: for Heroes webisodes and X-Files conspiracy sites (not that you need them to understand the critically drubbed movie), to see John McCain fall asleep on Conan's desk, and for the final episode of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, now gone from the free web forever. (But at least Doogie Howser still has a few songs left in him -- somewhere in the neighborhood of Beaker's YouTube channel.) Then we told you why you should get TV Funhouse and Spaced on DVD.

What else? Sadly, we said goodbye to Estelle Getty, Ebert & Roeper, and (possibly) Jay Leno.

And, of course, we dove right into the shallow end of the cultural pool, telling you about sexytime on the sets of Big Brother and Saved By the Bell, and (allegedly) at Matthew Broderick's friend's place. But the fun's over for The Bachelor, though he was the only one surprised about it.

And finally, we learned that watching too much TV makes us all think we're on TV. Which isn't actually true... yet.

The Postman Sings Twice: Another "Heroes" Webisode

The Heroes summer webisode series Going Postal continues, and so far it's pretty damn exciting. As you may remember from part 1, mailman Echo DeMille (Kiko Ellsworth), who has some screamy-voice-power thing, is being pursued by a bad guy called the Constrictor (you can guess why).

As we mentioned last week, Going Postal introduces a new character, mailman Echo DeMille (Kiko Ellsworth), who has some kind of cool screamy-voice power. And there's a new villain (or is he?) as well. View "Chapter 1: A Nifty Trick" after the jump:

Like one of those little tasting spoons at the ice-cream shop, The Office is once again offering sample-size summer webisodes featuring your favorite secondary characters. In "Kevin's Loan: Money Trouble," starring Brian Baumgartner and Oscar Nuñez, Kevin's got some sneaky ideas for getting the bank to give him some cash.

Yeah, we thought you would. Buncha addicts. Anyhow, this brand-new promo is all you're going to get until Heroes' summer Web series, Going Postal, goes online starting July 14. And that, of course, will have to hold you until the show itself returns in the fall.

Best as we can tell from this brief introduction, Going Postal involves a mailman whose power is in his voice. Also, he seems to have a sexy girlfriend, whose power is clearly somewhere else. And, hey, there's Mama Petrelli!

One of the best things about The Office is that the supporting characters are every bit as funny as the stars. So while it's great news that Steve Carell has signed on for another three years of the show -- and that Rashida Jones is set to head up a proposed spinoff -- it's also nice to know that we're getting new Internet mini-episodes featuring Oscar, Darryl and Kevin starting July 10. From the following preview, it's clear that Kevin needs a loan, and may or may not be going into the ice-cream business. Check it out:
