Question 2:
Do you think "feminism" is, and has always been, on the side of sexual candor? What camps, feminist or otherwise, have been most resistant to your work? (Based on your first round of comments, it seems that you all have had different experiences with feminism. Feel free to comment on these differences.)

Susie Bright
Nancy, I died laughing about your Ms. magazine anecdote, and I often marvel at how many of us have a similar gruesome unforgettable tale at the hands of these idiots. Never before has such an undistinguished (what are these peoples' names, anyway?) staff of a magazine humiliated and prejudiced so many readers and contributors.
I know it would be probably of no interest to generations before or after us, but I always wanted to do a serious "Hall of Shame," where everyone who has been insulted by Ms. magazine comes out of the woodwork to tell their horror stories.
Not one of those "editors" has ever come forth and said, "You know, I was an ass, I was wrong, and I want to make amends." Instead, just when you think they're finally dead they come up with things like the "Ms. Roundtable on Pornography," in which the "roundtable," of course, is the size of a pin.
Nancy, I know you knew at the time their opinions on your book were ridiculous, but I'm sure it hurt nevertheless, and I only hope you had many good laughs on the way to the bank, and also into your readers' hearts, where you had such a positive and entirely feminist impact . . .
