Do you think "feminism" is, and has always been, on the side of sexual candor? What camps, feminist or otherwise, have been most resistant to your work? In response to Nancy, Betty and Susie's last replies, I can only say that patience is the best possible response. Patience coupled with vigorous effort! Patience doesn't mean giving up. But we're talking about significant human evolution here, and twenty-five years -- or 150 years, depending on how you read feminist history -- is very little time. In spite of all the dilemmas and remaining difficulties, I know that my daughter's life is dramatically different from mine in many positive ways, and from my mother's and grandmother's in ways they could not have imagined. We're doing okay!
