it does seem like there is an argument that it could be bad for the republicans in the long run to overturn roe v. wade. it would follow that it would be good for democrats tactically, though few dems would be cynical enough to hope that this might happen. except me, perhaps -- i think the international / geopolitical mistakes the republicans are making are even more serious than small changes to state abortion rights, and i would like to see them impale themselves by whatever means possible. at least right now as i type this ;)
