The camera is always — the tripod, tungsten lights, colored gels all within easy reach. Insatiably curious about what a picture can reveal, Israeli ex-pat Elinor Carucci makes a subject of herself and the people she loves, including her husband, Eran, who's become intrinsic to her work. A fellow photographer, Eran is far more private and retreating than his wife. So why does he lay his life out before her camera? "Because he loves me," explains Carucci, "and the camera is part of me." — Minna Proctor
