2nd & 3rd place are abysmal. What were you thinking of? Neither has the fun and spontainity of 'amateur' style shots or the composition expected in 'professional' work. They are just not good photos in any way.
Will someone at Nerve please explain to me why the first and third place winners in an "amateur" contest are professional photographers? According to www.onemodelplace.com, Roberto Photo has "more than 16 years experience" and "brings a new level of professionalism and technical expertise to the art of glamour, fashion, and swimsuit photography". Either Nerve doesn't check to see where the photos are coming from, or they don't care. Either way, talented amateurs are getting screwed.
Yup, it's not the first time professional photographers have won the contest or gotten honorable mention. I don't think Nerve cares that their paying customers that are the amauteur photographers are getting screwed.
Hey fun... go back to reading Penthouse magazine.
Next... what constitutes an amateur photographer, I have been photographing for 3 years and am currently trying to market myself as a fine art photographer. I ocassionally sell some of my photographs... I have had some schooling in photography, and have considered sending photographs in for these competitions, though I haven't yet. (I could really use the $500 prize). But I havent yet sent anything in because the fact that I do make a small amount of money from my photographs... doesn't that put me into the professional realm.
Perhaps nerve could have two levels of the competition... The amateur photos... and the professional photos... both categories could have winners and this would solve the problem of professional photographers who want the challenge of these competitions.
By the way the "fun" who posted on the 15th is not the same "fun" who posted on the 13th. i am sure at this point the 8/15"fun" has moved on to a porn site and some ky jelly. the 8/13 fun thinks that, no i would not consider you a professional photographer, if you can't pay your bills from your art then your not a pro yet, but thats just my opinion.
Long before creating the HBO show Girls, Lena Dunham was developing an exclusive web series for Nerve.com. We're not saying that being published on Nerve guarantees fame and fortune, but we're not not saying it.
Submit your love & sex themed short film or miniseries to submissions@nerve.com for a chance to be on Nerve - HBO is waiting.

There's not one good picture of pussy among your winners; that is far from winning! Pussy is beautiful. More pussy for more masturbation!
