61 Frames Per Second by John Constantine Today in Nerve's videogame blog: Street Fighter. The movie. A new one. With that chick from that Superman show. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about!
The Remote Island by Bryan Christian Mad Men's January Jones struts her stuff in Vanity Fair. Plus: Damages returns, the latest Gossip Girl guest star and Donna Martin capitulates.
One of my first jobs was to photograph Helmut. I was commissioned to shoot
him at his suite in the Chateau Marmont. Of course I was nervous. Not
only was it early in my career, but I heard that he could act like a real
fascist. During the shoot, things moved along; he was neither mean nor
inviting.
When I finished and was saying my goodbyes, he shook my hand and
said, "I want to see the contact sheets before you give them to the magazine.
If
you don't show them to me, you will never work for the good magazines again."
I thanked him but had no intention of showing him the photos. I was being a punk;
I didn't think it was his right. The
next
day
I developed
the
film, gave the pictures to the magazine and sweated for a few days until they
were published.
