French Ad Campaign Uses Emoticons To Warn Against Online Sexual Predators

The images may disturb you, but the message is clear.

According to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, one in seven children will receive a sexual solicitation online. Nonprofit organization Innocence In Danger recently teamed up with French ad agency ROSAPARK to create a stirring campaign against child sexual abuse.The disturbing images present sexual predators hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, with the tagline “Who’s really chatting with your child?” A harmless emoticon becomes a sinister reflection of reality.

Innocence In Danger operates in 29 countries bringing together "militants, Internet specialists, jurists, political decision-makers, businessmen, media, and national action groups to sensitise world opinion on the increasing problems of paedo-criminality." Learn more here.
