I enjoyed Kurahashi's fine-crafted, chilling tale. Although I am familiar with the lore, the writer used it in such a unique manner that I was enthralled, especially with the visceral imagery of the wetness at the body's neck and the pleasureable shudders induced by licking it. If Nerve.com routinely posts such dark fiction, then I will visit more often. I also want the guidelines! *grin* --TJ 04/18 |

That article was extremely disturbing. The notion of the body and the mind of a woman being somehow separate from each other is really sick and totally prevelant throughout most of the world.. Also it's particularly disturbing in relationship to the incest, because as we know these memories are often repressed by the "head" or brain.. In other words causing a the "head" to be removed from the body. Fucked up evil shit. -- 04/06 |
Amazing... I have dated women with flying spleens and flying livers and a few with flying lungs, but I have NEVER heard of a flying head! Those japanese are SO subtle. --ls 03/28 |

I always enjoy legends given the contemporary twist - this one is particularly delightful, as it
avoids giving too much detail, but lets the mind wander through the few key images and flesh
them out personally - not unlike breathing life into an absent body. But what, I wonder, was the
wife's reaction to this disadvantaged daughter? She is not mentioned in the context of relations
with the narrator. Lost in the translation?
