Reader Feedback on "Pride and Promiscuity: The Lost Sex Scenes of Jane Austen"
Not to be a total stickler, but I am afraid Mr KnightlEy's name is, indeed, spelt with that extra "e." Otherwise, quite droll.

Splendid, amusing and bang on pastiche. Sort of Byatt's Possession meets the Pearl! Thanks, I needed that...

Emma slowly lost herself in the dissatisfaction of Mr. Knightly's gaze. She realized that he was yet another humdrum yuppie that used big words for no purpose. She became exhausted of feigning smiles. She was unimpressed. She yearned to be free from conventional ideas that define womanhood and wrap it up in a corset.

you high-filutin' college students just don't have anything better to do these days, eh? go watch a porno or something. I realize how difficult it must be to come up with a scenario, especially one that has the appearance of being sensual and romantic. all is illusion. cease your efforts. punctuation be damned!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the articles on the Lost Sex Scenes. However, I am confused: "But, she would slowly allow for compliment here and there; remarks upon her foresight, assistance, intelligence, advice and general good will would be allowed, in bits and bites now and again, especially in Mr. Knightly's presence — to be sure he was made to understand exactly how right she would was." What exactly does "she would was" mean? I feel this must be a typo.

Get over it folks. While this is mostly well written, it is not from the hand of Jane Austen. The feature is listed in Nerve's fiction section, and the credits provide a hot link to Amazon.com - where you can buy the complete text. The book "Pride and Promiscuity" is desribed as a parody of Austen's work. Sorry to dissapoint.

So this stuff is real, right? Austen actually wrote this, or is this a fictionalized account?

Go Jane-o! I confess never appreciating most of her work--her priggishness always seemed to get the better of mere mortals. No doubt, the erotic parenthesis will make her much more appreciated in high-school curricula.

WOW! I have to say that this has to be one of the most exciting things that I have ever had the opportunity to read! thank you so much for making it so easily available to me. Being a huge Austen fan, I truly can appreciate the importance and significance of this text. Again, thank you.
