of course more of a fairy story than a 'real' story you kids. just like her novel 'woman on the edge of time', the most important, mind-helping utopia vision around. some would call it overly simple, pc, etc, but the best art is what shows not just how things are but also how they could/should be. so check out 'woman on..' and plough thru it patiently! worth it.

"plagiarizing" Marge Piercy? Now, how would that work? I don't think so. It's possible that the voice in this story is just much more appropriate - or what you're recognizing as a knock-off - for a story about 14 year olds. There are all kinds of signals in this story that the writer is well aware that she needs to use the words, the phrases, and references that apply more, say, to kids, than to adults.

Some people seem to be raising eyebrows about the "young age" of the characters in the story. Sexual exploration doesn't begin at age 18. The author is depicting --albeit unconventional-- consentual, safe, beautiful, real sex. Ironically enough, this is probably the most unrealistic aspect of the story. If only the sexual experiences my peers and I had at 14 were that positive...

i thought it was an ok story, it was sorta real and it didn't hold back, but a bit of it seems unreal. the fact that neither boy had ever been with the same sex before and that evan was able to slip his cock in so quickly and easily wasn't told all that good. also the part about the hole concert t-shirt, come on. but overall, i would have to say its pretty good. the writer feels no boundaries and doesn't beat around the bush. good job....keep up the good work....

but we've got to see the rest - how the girl starts to get truly interested in the new kid, how she breaks it off with evan to pursue his uncircumcised weewee, how the new kid turns out to not be what she thought he was, how evan (in his grief) turns to sexing up cheerleaders who like the bad boys... then what she's learned from the escapade... as it is now nobody has an arc or develops at all unless you count early teenage experimentation...
the only readability issue I had was after 1/4 in - a lot of the language blended together so much that it came off a little sleepy, monotone..... perhaps a dash of true perversion akin to the ending scene - maybe a bender...

Whoa ... besides the fact that the story was told so blatantly (with the narrator flat out telling us what they thought and who they were instead of more intuitively *showing* us this) ... the non-compelling feel of the story really came out when Evan just casually stuck himself in Chad's ass. Neither of them had ever been with another male, and presumably Chad had never had anything in his ass ... and, without fingering, just like that, it goes right in? That's about as weak as hearing these kids actually went to a Hole concert.
