Reader Feedback on "What She Wanted"
This was great - thank you Stacy! To all women who do this, stop! no more fixer-uppers, plus how sick to want someone to feel GRATEFUL to you - that should be a lover's strongest emotion? no way, get lives of your own, women of the world! we are better than some loser's caretaker.

Hi. Tell Stacey that mail from her trust, some arts commission, her college, and others still comes to the house she lived in near TEP in Tucson. She should follow up with those people and submit a change of address form. I've stopped saving it. Thanks, Theo

I read "What She Wanted" just before going out to hunt for women on a Saturday night in London. It made me shiver and gave me luscious goosebumps. I am jaded. Very little makes me shiver, or indeed gives me luscious goosebumps for that matter. I only clicked on the article on a whim, but read every word of it through to the end. This is a very special quality of writing for me, whether it's a political column in a newspaper, or crime fiction, or philosophy, or humour, or whatever. Hardly anything I read does this. And everything that *does* provoke that reaction in me, this rare quality of making me read-straight-through-without-pausing (or listening, etc etc for music) is always the best stuff, the stuff that I gladly let haunt me in my day-to-day life. I hope you've written other things, and I hope I can find them. Your "essay", or "story" or "snapshot", or whatever, was just painfully good.

That used to be me. I'm not her anymore, but I would never want for another past. Secretly I still want 'what she wanted'. I remember feeling as if I were some sort of sexual Madonna... Pretty lofty, huh?

pls let me know if you got my first feedback.. I wrote you quite a little feedback story.. I lost my connection and I don't know if it was sent to you or not. ANyway,,, I loved your story... You must have been following my girl and I for the last couple years.. You hit us on the head.... Pretty disgusting.. but a haunting erotic fantasy that needs to be layed out soon... My feedback to you was written in the same vein as your story so I hope you GOT IT ! dc

Very nice. Different. Fast paced and tight. This is my first time on this website (it got good reviews in a magazine.) I don't read much porn but I don't think this is porn at all. Now that I think about it though, it is pretty dirty. Keep it up. Just remember to play nice with the other children. dolsen@osfinc.com

Sure she did. And he did, too. But he didn't want her to want it. Not that. So he swung his leg over the Harley when he saw her drive in and he went past her slow, downshifting to make the pipes rattle. He didn't look at her. He made a point of not looking.

Excellent. Desolation, loneliness and true indications of a decrepit life. Nothing could be so sinister as floating aimlessly through life, taking upon the first suggestion that happens to manifest itself so easily.

Where have all the writers gone these days. They have sold out with pop culture. However, nerve has something that is quite wonderful. What She Wanted and its lucid descriptions of character and ambience is...wonderous. I have been at that Holiday Inn, surrounded by fields, young adults in formal attire, but oh they look like children so. I was there, as I was a participant.
