purple and melodramatic as you'd expect from queer fiction these days, I lost a lot of interest after "sizzled like a brand and made me salivate," the 49th overdone description of longing. what's with the funny shame comment from the person with the same lastname initial as you? mom was reading Nerve and started crying, I guess. hey Brucie I heard Paglia dissing this site viciously on Salon, whacha doin here? god save the Queen from part 3 of this mess

The great thing about this story is that you can't blame either character. You empathize with both of them. As usual, Benderson delivers!

I am continually fascinated by Benderson's observations on sex and culture via his own life experiences. If Mrs. Stone, in the film "The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone", had been equipped with the same giddy intellect and sobering self-anaysis that Benderson possesses, she would have held on to those keys in the last reel!

Nerve should edit out the dumb comments. I hope the stuff about being ashamed of this piece is a (not very clever joke). This guy's an original writer. His imagery and subject matter are disturbing, nearly off-putting, but he makes you experience every inch of it because of his sense of language. Good piece.

I don't know where I've failed,we tried to give Bruce a normal upbringing,respectful family values,a roof over his head,comfortable ,and most of all, without judgement and criticism,My heart breaks when I read this and truly can not fathom this pursuit of life.
