Reader Feedback on "Spanking the Cosmo"
You say that women's magazines capitalize on women's insecurities: this is correct. They define beauty and create a standard that all other women must try to live up to to feel beautiful as well. They are slathered in pictures of skinny women, makeup tips, exercises designed to make you thinner and loads of other ways for women to paint themselves and be someone that they are not. Why does this happen? Because men like you guys get off on the pictures in these magazines. We can say all we want that we will be desirable whether we look like a model or not.... but we see it all around us that it doesn't work that way. Thank you for your further reiteration of how far women still have to go to be humans in this world, and no thanks for any help in getting there.

I read Cosmo a lot. It's a lot more interesting for guys than most Playboys are-Penthouses are pretty boring too, but at least their pictorials are better.
Here's a question:
Who thinks women should be skinny and not weigh very much?
Women do.
If you look at a typical cover of a female magazine, it frequently has a skinny-model type on it.
Guys want bigger women. Look at the SI swimsuit edition. A lot of them weigh a lot more than the model-types on the women's magazine.
If women want to know what guys like, look at the girls in the men's magazines.
Women are screwing themselves up.

For years, some have accused the Penthouse Forum of faking letters from men and women.
