Reader Feedback on "The Science of Sex: Pheromones"
About the pheremones article, my wife and I have felt something akin to this for the length of out 17 year marriage, well before these studies were performed. It usually arises between days 8 and 10 in her menstral cycle, lasting a day or two. This sometime corresponds with her producing more glide, or stringy cervical mucous, but not always. I experience it usually in the morning first when I am drawn to simply cuddle up, or to follow her around like a puppy dog through the day. There is no specific urge to have sex per se, but rather an upswelling of openness and sweetness. She experiences it too, although less regularly then I do. Sometimes we'll be sparkling or flirting with each other and suddenly it will dawn on us - "Ah, it's pheremone time again!" I am skeptical about the doubts reported in the article. There may not be a mechanism yet known, but I can vouch, it's there.
