The thing that strikes me the most about your writing is how conversational and immediate it is. I really connect with it because it reminds me some of my own style. You've got some really fabulous turns of phrases as well. I love the thing about Eli and the lack of punctuation as a political statement. The part about the husband who won't let her go to New York and saw her as a problem to solve and solved her, makes me so sad and makes me think of my last relationship and how I could have become a problem he solved, instead of me.
