I found the story confusing, and redundand, withouut a real meaning. Maybe this is the reason I decided not to renew my membership.

Correction. After further research, priapism I see is caused by all sorts of things, injury, sickle-cell anemia, and spinal cord injury, as well as certain penile injections for impotency. Good to know. I guess even if I didn't really like this story it helped to correct misinformation I had in my own brain.

Its very interesting to me that the title of this story is a reference to a physical phenomena that occurs after severe trauma to a male's brain, resulting in a painful erection that last for hours. Is this some sort of commentary on the state of men's sexuality? Is he trying to say that men's sexual response is akin to brain damage?

The repetition puts me in the space of the monotony of average middle class family and it's effect on sexuality. There doesn't seem to be a development of plot leading to any sort of clear statement.

The story sounds to me like a children's book author went off the dark side one night and wrote about what was in front of him, retaining that annoying habit of repetition.
