PERSONAL ESSAYS

Reader Feedback on "WWJD?"
I really loved this. This spoke to me in such a way. I guess because I've done too much of this Author's notion of subsuming...thanks Nerve for reminding me of me.

A lovely essay. I love the connection between what's on screen and real life -- how we try to emulate images that were not ever true. The kicker at the end, of the real life Joan has actually lived, brings it all together.

newspaper does work! (laughed when I read that...mom taught me that too) even today's paper....it's freaky good.

Does using newspaper really make windows cleaner? I would think that with the kind of ink they use these days, it would just smear all over the glass, leading to eventual gloom. Huh? Oh yeah, I liked the essay, too!

I love it. It's just the kind of mixture of history and trivia and personal story that makes an essay go.
