We feel that your magazine is great and is no worse than some of the other catalogs out there such V.S and Fredricks of Hollywood. So you keep up the good work. Why does Abercrombie and Fitch have to put nude people in order to sell to people? Aren't they supposed to be selling CLOTHES? So, Abercrombie & Fitch Quarterly is a porn magazine rather than a catalog for selling clothes. What has America come to? If they think they can sell me clothes by showing me nude people, I'm sorry, but I'm not that perverted.

having just spent a year in italy, where naked breasts and backsides are an extremely common sight both on prime time television and in advertisements (both on television and billboard style), perhaps i am not as sensitive to this particular argument as others. however, i think that anyone aware of our modern world will agree that sex sells; under that pretense, why should A&F be criticised for doing blatantly what others try to be sneaky about? at least they realize what they are doing, and are using it to their advantage. and in response to the proclamations of it being porn... well, what's wrong with porn??? granted, there is a time and a place (as well as an age) for everything, but sex and bodies are around us all day, everyday. why not be creative, have fun, and use them to our advantage? if we want to criticise A&F, let's criticise their choice to perpetuate the incredibly restricted and restrictive, pre-packaged ideas of beauty and sexiness: why are only skinny, muscular, young people considered beautiful and sexy? A&F could use their forum to expand their readers' minds a bit, if they wanted.

For a couple of years my husband and I have been laughing about the sexual content of the Abercrombe and Fitch storefronts (we never saw the catalog) and wondering what's been happening to them. It's just practically kiddie-porn (from a late-30's perspective, at least). And we could never quite link the naked kids to the concept of clothing sales. Obviously, we don't know dirt about advertising. Thanks for looking around and finding the sex and humor in so much around us. I love the way you put it into perspective.

In 1980, the official Abercrombie obituary was stated in "The Official Preppy Handbook". This late 90s, Limited spin-off is a Bruce Weber photo-shoot gone years too long. This college theme erotica is the equivalent best-selling porn "Girls Gone Wild" for the gay men and fag hag straight women. The quarterly wouldn't sell if those exquistely starved, overly exercised models actually wore those dreadful clothes. The prevalent labeling outside of the care-label on their products reeks of what the public school educated think "preppy" is supposed to be. (Hint: Think chinos and madras.) With more male nudity than a frat hazing, Abercrombie has strayed far too from its L.L. Bean like roots. Those that know better realize that eroticism is so much better from the neck up.
