This article is accurate and informative. Yet the Conservatives are not alone in their desire to abridge freedoms of expression. Political correctness is more a tool of the Liberal side of the street and it is wielded like an 18 lb. sledge and used to silence any expression that hurts someone's feelings or disagrees with their agenda.
Freedom of Speech means that even if you don't like it, it can be said. If it hurts your feelings, tough. Both sides of the political spectrum are guilty of infringing our rights of expression. On college campuses there are rules specifically governing what can not be said aloud and in some cases specifying locations and times where some topics can be openly discussed. The difference appears to be, the Conservatives would seek to openly legislate freedoms away, while the Liberals tend to make it appear that they want keep people from being offended so they just don't want anyone expressing certain ideas anymore to make everyone comfortable. Both approaches are equally insidious.
