How Do I Cancel my Nerve Premium
Subscription? To cancel your Nerve Premium subscription, go to the
Nerve Help Wizard, login,
select ‘Cancel Premium Subscription’ from the list of help options and
enter your reason for canceling in the space provided. When your subscription
has been terminated, you will receive notification by email. You will continue
to have access to Nerve Premium content until the end of your current billing
period. (See our Cancellation Policy.)
I’d like to renew my subscription. If you’d like to renew a cancelled subscription, please
let us know via the Nerve Help
Wizard. To find out more about renewals, click here.
PRICING AND BILLING How much does Nerve Premium
cost? $7.00 a month or $35.00 a year (Psst - that’s less than
$3 a month!).
What types of credit cards
may be used to purchase a Nerve Premium subscription? Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards.
I'm nervous about sending
my credit card information across the Internet -- how secure is it? For security reasons we do not store your credit card
information on Nerve servers. All credit card transactions are performed
by a special third party service called Verisign. Information is sent from
your browser to our servers and on to Verisign via a securely encrypted
connection.
May I purchase a Nerve Premium
subscription by check, cash, or money order? No! We’re sorry but we do not yet have a system in place
to accept checks or money orders. (We’ll let you know if and when this
changes.) We cannot accept cash because of many safety concerns, foremost
among them the U.S. Postal Service's recommendation that you never send
cash in the mail.
Can I purchase a Nerve Premium
subscription if I live outside the United States? Yes! You can use one of the above-listed credit cards.
(One caveat, however: you will be unable to take advantage of our Free
Magazine offers.)
If I live outside the United
States, will my payment be adjusted for the difference in currency or figured
at the U.S dollar rate? In the interest of simplicity and speed in billing subscriptions,
we must bill at the U.S. dollar rate.
How do renewals work? For monthly subscriptions we will automatically bill
your credit card each month, without notification, until you tell us to
stop.
For annual memberships, two weeks before your subscription is to expire
we will send you an e-mail letting you know. If you don't wish to renew,
you can just follow the e-mail's instructions. Otherwise we will renew
your subscription automatically one year from your original date of subscription.
Gift subscriptions are not automatically renewed.
May I sample Nerve Premium
on a trial basis before paying? No. We’re sorry, but if you want to see the naughty
naked pictures you will have to pay the $7.00 monthly fee, or $35.00 for
the year.
If you’re uncertain about joining Nerve Premium, we invite you to join
for the one-month rate of $7.00. If, before the month is out, you decide
it’s not for you, fill out a cancellation ticket with the Nerve
Help Wizard and we’ll cancel your subscription at the end of the month.
(See our cancellation policy below.)
What is your cancellation
policy? Monthly subscriptions: When canceling
your monthly subscription, you are responsible for paying the monthly subscription
fee through the last day of your current one-month billing cycle. Monthly
subscriptions are billed in advance and may be cancelled at any time. Your
account will be closed at the end of the current pre-paid billing period.
Annual subscriptions: When you cancel your year-long subscription,
the subscription will expire without automatic renewal at the end of your
one-year subscription period. If you encounter problems with your Nerve
Premium service within the first 30 days of your subscription, and we can’t
resolve them through the Nerve
Help Wizard, we will cancel your subscription and refund all but $7
of your payment.
If I sign up for a monthly
subscription can I convert to an annual subscription? Yes, you can switch to the annual rate at any time and
pay $35.00 for the next 12 months, effective at the end of your current
monthly billing cycle. Just use the Help
Wizard and fill out a ticket under “Reinstate my Cancelled Premium
Subscription.”
Can I give Nerve Premium
as a gift? Why, yes! You can easily create as many gift subscriptions
as you'd like by filling out the gift
registration form with your credit card information, your email address,
and the email address of the gift recipient/s.
USING PREMIUM What are cookies? Nerve Premium depends on special files called "cookies" so
that our servers can recognize you as a Premium subscriber and deliver
the appropriate pages to you. A cookie is a small amount of data that is
sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard
drive. If you have disabled cookies on your browser at any time in the
past you'll need to enable them in order to take advantage of many Nerve
Premium features. To find out how to do this, click
here. We
use cookies only to facilitate your use of the Nerve Premium site. No sensitive
information is ever stored in our cookies.
Can I use my subscription
from more than one computer -- say, at work and at home? Yes. Just use the same username and password on your
browser at each location where you wish to use your subscription. However,
only one computer can be logged in at one time for each subscriber ID.
To protect Nerve from abuse of accounts, if our servers detect that the
same subscription is being used from an unreasonable number of discrete
locations (IP addresses), we reserve the right to cancel the account.
I'm a subscriber, I'm logged
in and I can't access Premium content. What gives? First, make sure you haven't turned "cookies" off in
your browser. Then, make sure you're visiting Nerve directly at our main
Web address -- http://www.nerve.com -- and not http://nerve.com, or http://www.nervemag.com,
or any other address. If you still have trouble, visit the Nerve
Help Wizard and send us a message, and let us know what kind of browser
and what operating system you use. Also, cookies files sometimes get corrupted.
Try deleting cookies and
logging back in.
I’m a subscriber, and I
can’t log in, period! Is there something wrong with my account? Don’t panic - just visit the Nerve
Help Wizard and fill out a ticket under “Trouble Logging In”. A customer
service representative will come to your rescue!
How do I log out? All member pages have a “logout” button in the menu,
on either the top or the bottom of the page. Note: If you share a computer
or are using a public computer terminal, you should also quit your browser
after logging out.
PRIVACY Are you going to sell my
personal information (e.g. name and address) to the highest bidder? Nerve will only use your name and address to verify
payment information. If you checked the box indicating that you would like
to hear about newsletters and promotions, we will occasionally e-mail you
information about new features. That's it. Your information is confidential,
and we will not share your personal information with any third parties.
What’s your privacy policy? Click
here to read our Privacy Vow.
USERNAME, PASSWORD, AND SUBSCRIBER PREFERENCES I've forgotten or lost my
membername and/or password. What do I do? You can go to our lost
password page and
we'll e-mail your password to you at the e-mail address with which you
first registered. If that doesn't work you can visit the Nerve
Help Wizard and send us an email, and our customer service team will
assist you within two business days.
What if I made a mistake
during the subscription process? You can return to our account
status page and
alter your subscription information. (The only thing you can’t change is
your membername.)
How can I change the credit
card I used in my subscription? For security reasons we do not store your credit card
information on Nerve servers. All credit card transactions are performed
by a special third party service called Verisign. If you need to change
your credit card, please visit the Nerve
Help Wizard and send us a message, with your old and new credit card
information.
How can I change my password? You can change your password on our account
status page.
I have a new email address.
How can I update my member information? Go all the way down to the bottom of the page on Nerve.com - or click
here to go to your
Account Status page.
How can I sign up for or
opt-out of Nerve Newsletters and Promotions? You can subscribe to Nerve News - or stop receiving
it altogether - by going to your Account
Status page. Same
goes for emails about Nerve Promotions.
Do I still have to fill
out a subscriber page if I'm a Nerve Member? No. If you are already a Nerve member, all you have
to do is upgrade
your membership to Nerve Premium by giving us your billing information.
Simply log in to the site with your member name and password, and you will
automatically be prompted to upgrade.
Why haven’t I received my
free magazines yet? If you signed up for Wired and/or The Week with your
Premium subscription, you should expect your magazines in 6-8 weeks. If
the months have passed with no magazines, please let us know via the Nerve
Help Wizard.
PERSONALS vs. PREMIUM Can I have the same membername
and password for Nerve, Nerve Personals and Nerve Premium? Yes. Your member name and password will remain consistent
throughout the site. If you have not yet bought a Nerve- Premium subscription
you will be given the option of upgrading every time you sign in.
I’m already a Personals
User and have bought a credits package. Do I have to give you my credit
card information and billing information again? Yes. For security reasons we do not store your credit
card information on Nerve servers. All credit card transactions are performed
by a special third party service called Verisign. You must therefore give
us your credit card information again so we can resend it to Verisign.
Can I cash in my Personals
credits for a Premium membership (or vice versa)? Sorry, but no. Except for a shared membername, your
Personals and Premium accounts are entirely separate.
OTHER QUESTIONS My question isn’t answered
