The other night, we made a stop at Bourbon and Branch in SF — a basement-level, prohibition-style bar with lots of dark wood and mood lighting. It’s the perfect place to wind down after a stressful day (not to mention cozy up to a hot date), and it feels almost exactly like you’ve time traveled to an era where a long day’s work can instantly vanish with a tall glass of neat whisky.
The booze selection is hands-down unmatched, and I think I could have spent hours staring at the lines of bourbon and whisky bottles behind the bar.
Needless to say, one round of bourbon cocktails turned into two, which turned into an old-fashioned order of two whiskies on the rocks. Not a bad way to spend a weekday night.
And if you’re going to make tonight’s happy hour a truly classic one, I’d highly recommend picking up some Glenrothes:
Pour it neat in a glass, sit back, and enjoy the awesome.
