Where are you from?
I'm from Australia.
What are you listening to right now?
At the moment, an Australian brother/sister duo called Angus and Julia Stone. It's pretty folky, singer-songwriter kind of stuff. They're pretty big at home. They recently took out what's called Triple J Hottest 100, where everyone votes for the best song of the year, and they got #1 this year.

When I think of Australian bands that have gotten successful here, I think of Jet. What do you think about them?
I saw Jet at a festival before they exploded, and I thought they were great. But they became just the typical, commerical success, you know? I don't know if they really did anything memorable past that first album.
Are there Australian bands that Americans should be listening to?
There's a band called Bluejuice. They're really good and they played over here recently as well. Cat Empire, who you've might of heard of — they've played over here a few times as well.

If you were on a date with someone, what's a band you'd be psyched that they were into?
Radiohead. In Rainbows is probably my favorite.
What'd you think of The King of Limbs?
It took a while for me to get into it. It's a bit of a grower, but little by little I liked it more. There are some great tracks on there. I don't mind it. I know a lot of people did mind it because it had a Thom Yorke-solo-album feel to it.
Is Radiohead your favorite band?
They're definitely up there. They're just so amazingly talented. What I was saying earlier about bands whose every album sounds the same — I think Radiohead has managed to avoid that. It's always refreshing and you aren't quite sure what they are going to come out with.
What is the most embarrassing song you have on your iPod right now?
It's pretty strong at the moment, but there's some Aussie hip-hop that some people would say is bad. A band called The Hilltop Hoods. I don't mind them but some people might rip on them. Everything else I'm okay with.

The Cat Empire is a great band.
Jude is sexy.
damn sexy...
i kept hoping the aussie would mention hilltop hoods i love them.
EWW to both Cat Empire and Hilltop Hoods!!
Yumm to the first gurl!
Hell Yeah. U2 are a couple of ponces. Their "reign" of ego-tistical drivel should be stopped.
Seconded.
This is a pretty neat feature. Good stuff.
yea this feature was tight
Funny I only count three people.
The cat empire is really great. I absolutely love their shows.
This is the first time I hear Bluejuice, it's really catchy and summery.
I would sleep with Angus and Julia Stone.
All this sucks and it makes me glad people wear headphones.
Angus and Julia Stone is always sold out. Seen them live 4 times. Every concert is just full of Aussies that it gets annoying though.
I think she probably said JONSI. The lead singer of Sigur Ros. I saw his 2 summer shows here last year and they were amazing.
actually Y A N C Y is an up-and-coming hip hop artist, which would make sense since it aligned with her hip-hop comment directly after that question.
google is your friend
she actually did mean Jonsi. I was with her at those shows...
Eugena is right, no one ever says Bad Religion. Which is a damn shame. I saw them in concert when I was in high school & it's still one of my favorite shows!
Saw this and thought it looked like http://www.privatenoise.com rip off. Then saw a comment that pointed that out... now that comment is gone. If that's true, sucks. Like the post but credit where credit is due.
agreed
likey this feature
Why is Murs' "L.A." embarassing!? That song is sick, he did it on Kimmel a while back, very fresh...
