William S. Burroughs' lost graphic novel "Ah Pook Is Here" will be published in 2011

After enduring decades of obscurity, Ah Pook Is Here, a graphic novel by William S. Burroughs and Malcolm McNeill, will finally see the light of day.

Originally conceived as a series of comic strips in the now defunct magazine Cyclops, Ah Pook turned into the writer-cartoonist duo's only graphic novel. Fantagraphics, which will be publishing the work sometime next year, has released some teaser images:

"Ah Pook Is Here," the Williams S. Burroughs graphic novel to be published by Fantagraphics.

As you can clearly discern from the illustrations above, Burroughs' graphic novel tells the story of a "William Randolph Hearst-like figure who unleashes the fury of Mayan death god Ah Pook during an attempt to achieve immortality." Your move, HBO.
