Bristol Palin's book Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far doesn't hit shelves until next week, but the part everyone's actually excited to read — the story of how she lost her virginity to and eventually was impregnated by Levi Johnston — is already making the rounds. As it turns out, the whole thing was pretty typical high school and seems to have pretty much sucked for Palin.
In the book, Palin writes of getting drunk off of too many wine coolers while on a camping trip with Johnston that her parents didn't know she was on (see? high school), then waking up alone in the tent, unclear on what had gone down while Johnston "talked with his friends on the other side of the canvas" about his conquest. Classy!
She also claims that Johnston "cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates" and when he learned of her pregnancy, responded, "better be a (bleeping) boy." Probably a safe bet that a different version of events will show up in Johnston's own memoir, Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin's Crosshairs, scheduled to come out this fall.
Even if this two crazy kids can't work it out, nice to see that they're doing their part to keep the publishing industry afloat.
