You know, I got worried (and by “worried” I mean “blindly hopeful”) there for a minute that after the midterm elections Sarah Palin might have trouble staying in the news. How silly. Inevitably, Palin is now staging a “heartland” book tour for America By Heart, most of which she didn’t actually write.
According to the press release:
“America By Heart will include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have moved her — from the nation’s founding documents to great speeches, sermons, letters, literature and poetry, biography and even some of her favorite songs and movies.”
So where will Mama Grizzly be shopping around her fancy, fancy scrapbook? Almost exclusively to Tea Party-friendly locales including Des Moines and Spirit Lake, along with newly added stops in Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Say what you will, she may deserve some props for figuring out a way to get the best of both political worlds: she now has all the exposure of a campaigning candidate, with none of the pressure of little things like, say, actual debates, writing, or governing. Or going to states where people don’t like you.
