Compiled by neuroscientists Ogi Ogas and Sai Gaddam for their book A Billion Wicked Thoughts, the list comes from the careful analysis of 15,000 Harlequin books, none of which revolve around the exploits of a chivalrous English major. Instead, the stories tend to feature sensual individuals with the following professions:
