A young New Jersey man named Ryan Burke has been sentenced to fifteen days in jail (to be served on weekends) for serving a police officer a sandwich containing hair from his chest and groin. The disgusting act was motivated by revenge for a traffic ticket the officer had written the twenty-seven-year-old Burke a year earlier.

The incident took place last February after the officer had stopped into Good Foods to Go — formerly located in Marlton, New Jersey and where Burke was employed — to pick up his lunch. Burke recognized him, and proceeded to make the cop's turkey, egg, cheese, and hair bagel sandwich. The officer consumed half of the sandwich before he realized something was off, and sent the remaining half to a police lab for analysis. Tests confirmed the hairs were indeed Burke's, after he'd been arrested and provided a DNA sample. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on a law-enforcement officer and retaliation for a past official action. Mr. Burke has not been invited to the Marlton Police's annual spaghetti dinner.
