Filipino women organized “sex strike” to end local fighting

Separatist fighting in two villages in the Philippines has ended, and according to the U.N., it's all because local women got so sick of it that they organized a "sex strike" against their husbands until the violence came to an end.

When clashes in Dado closed roads and prevented locals from selling their goods at the market, women in the area collectively agreed that they'd refuse to sleep with their husbands (or "not be accepted at home," as one woman interviewed delicately puts it) until the situation improved.

Check out the above U.N. report, which features interviews with some of the key women behind the whole thing — it looks like pretty much everyone involved is better off post-sex-strike. Now, how many people would I have to get to go in on something like this with me to start making political waves?
