Watch: Dan Savage has a new definition for Rick Santorum
By Danielle GibsonJuly 29th, 2011, 10:50 amComments (13)Our favorite person, Dan Savage, made life a little messier for Rick Santorum back in 2003 when he created a new definition for "Santorum." We're sure you know, but as a refresher:
Santorum. 1. The frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex. 2. Senator Rick Santorum.
It's pretty gross, no matter how you get down, but also, probably deserved. Santorum is hate-mongering fool who "has a problem with homosexual acts." The aftereffects of what started as one sex-advice columnist's joke have been very serious for Santorum's political career; Savage's definition is still the first thing that comes up if you Google the Senator. That's a probably pretty annoying when you'd like to be defined by other things, like your presidential candidacy, or anything really, other than the aforementioned.
But Santorum hasn't eased up on being a jerk, so Savage has issued a challenge for him on Funny or Die: quit being anti-gay during your campaign, or he'll release a new definition for "Rick." And it sounds pretty gross, from what I can make out through the bleeps. If I was Rick, I'd take him seriously.

Will this new definition apply to Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who is every bit the douchebag Santorum is, and is actually holding office?
I just hope it doesn't inadvertently affect Rick Schroder's career.
Let alone Rick Astley's.
Unfortunately, what Savage is doing really only appeals to the type of people that look up "dirty" words in the dictionary and then giggle like idiots. Congratulations, Savage, you're now on par with Andrew Dice Clay and others who only appeal to the lowest common denominator of society. I can't believe that this is the same guy that started the "It gets better" campaign.
Too bad it's picked up enough steam that people who don't look up "dirty" words in the dictionary and giggle like idiots know about it.
"And it's not like you can start going by Dick Santorum, is it?" Pahaha. I feel like Rick is too common a name.
It's a good thing that Savage is against name-calling and bullying.
Savage is a nobody who does this stuff for attention. When it comes to Savage, it doesn't get better.
A nation-famous nobody who has had a political impact? Someone sounds peevish!
Social impact, not political. There is a difference. Let's see Savage run for office, then he can make a difference. Until then, however, he's just a bully who can't handle anybody disagreeing with him regardless of how repugnant the other's opinion may be.
You don't have to be a candidate for political office to have a political impact. Dan Savage has made a political impact just by giving Santorum his "google problem". Many people make a difference without running for office and more and more now social impacts are political impacts.
Oh god, the crying basketball player absolutely SLAYED me. I usually find Funny or Die - and Dan Savage for that matter - hit or miss, but this is GOLDEN.
So wait...does Dan Savage not like Rick Santorum or something?
