Facebook nude photos

A New Zealand man has become the first reported person to be sentenced to prison for posting an ex's nude photo on Facebook. (I'm not 100% sure he's the first person, but other media outlets are reporting it as fact. I remember one teenager who went to jail for extorting money from people in exchange for not posting their nude photos on Facebook.)

20-year-old Joshua Simon Ashby of Bay Island, NZ, was slapped with a four-month jail sentence after hacking his ex-girlfriend's Facebook account, posting the previously private photo of his ex-girlfriend posing nude in front of a mirror and sharing it with all of her friends. He also set her account to public so all of Facebook's half-billion users could see it if they somehow knew where to look.

Oh, and he also made two death threats by text, according to Stuff.nz. Yep... four months in jail.

While we're on the subject, you should change your password and make sure it's something you'll figure out but no one else will.

Sued by his girlfriend I suppose I would understand, but not arrested by the civil authorities.

new zealand has a decency law. can't post nude photos, there francois ... though i'd guess he was also facing charges for the hacking and death threats which is why he plead guilty.

Hah, some girl at my high school got kicked out for posting a face shot of someone else on the internet without permission. Bam, dropped from International Baccalaureate.

If it's a Book of Faces, why are they posting bodyshots?

If it's a book, why is there no paper?
