A Virgin America pilot re-routed his flight over Canadian airspace so that two men aboard could marry one another — proving that you don't have to land your burning plane on the Hudson to qualify as a badass, hero pilot. The news was broken by WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg via Twitter:

No word yet on who this new Captain Sully is or who the two gentlemen were, or, for that matter, if such a marriage is actually legal in either country. But still, assuming the pilot doesn't get in trouble, that's a good enough reason for me to fly Virgin. (Plus, they have those cool seatback walkie-talkies.)
