World’s “first” 3D porn causing a sensation in China

A 3D softcore pornographic film, Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy, is set to be released in Hong Kong and Taiwan next week. Despite the fact that the film is not yet in theaters, many Chinese are already planning to travel from more conservative mainland China to Hong Kong to see the uncut version. The film, which cost 3.24 million dollars to produce, is extremely costly by porn standards. Sex and Zen is a period piece set in the Ming Dynasty and is purportedly based on the classic Chinese erotic text, The Carnal Prayer Mat.

After the announcement of Sex and Zen, another 3D porn, Natali, was hurriedly filmed and rushed to market, technically becoming the world's first. But quick and cheap production resulted in the film becoming a financial failure.

Writer and producer Stephen Siu told local media that the film contains some very graphic sex scenes that "will leave audiences feeling like they are sitting right there at the edge of the bed." If the above trailer is any indication, the film looks to be a titillating mixture of girl-on-girl violence and girl-on-girl sexiness.
