Al Pacino to play Phil Spector, David Mamet Directing

How much testosterone can one fit into a single movie? Whatever your answer is, it's not enough: Al Pacino will be playing Phil Spector in an HBO movie to be written and directed by David Mamet. Either you immensely enjoyed that series of words, or it made you shudder in your Crocs. There is no third option. 

To ensure maximum IMDb-nerd glory, the as-of-yet untitled biopic will also claim the executive production of Barry Levinson, who's been behind movies like Rain Man, Bugsy, and Wag the Dog (which Mamet helped write). Arguably, though, the real story here is that Mamet is writing and directing a movie again, something he doesn't do often enough.
