Now that the Harry Potter franchise has come to an end (how quickly that decade passed!), its three child stars are faced with the monumental task of moving forward without always being thought of as Ron, Hermione, and the Boy Who Lived. Daniel Radcliffe has been hoofing it on stage for a while now, Rupert Grint is… somewhere, I'm sure, and Emma Watson is playing basically the un-Hermione in the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She's impulsive! She drinks and smokes! She goes to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show and does that thing where people act out the movie in front of the screen while the movie's playing!

If you've never read the book, written by Stephen Chbosky, all you need to know is that it's about high school and being unpopular and very much about how when you're that age, sometimes you are deliberately "weird" because that seems more authentic than whatever it is popular kids do. I read it at the right age, so I ate that shit up, but looking back on it, it's a little embarrassing. (Much like my Hot Topic message t-shirts.) Now that the trailer is here, we can see that The Perks of Being a Wallflower, film version, is going to be incredibly The Perks of Being a Wallflower, book version:
