First on-set photos from “X-Men: First Class” and “Captain America” released

I'm not sure what I'm going to do once The Avengers is out and I don't have a new, super-geeky piece of super-hero movie news to brighten each morning. (Is that when the third Batman will be happening?) The Daily Mail has the first on-set photos from the upcoming Captain America (starring Chris Evans) and X-Men: First Class (starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and a gaggle of hotties). I'm not sure if they got the scoop because parts of both are being filmed in the UK, but it doesn't really matter because OMG it's January Jones as Emma Frost:

I'm sure some of you are going to say that she looks absolutely ridiculous, but I'm going to defend it because A) this is set in the '60s and B) you never know how something will really look on film and C) I love a good fur-lined turban. (My God, that sounds absolutely dirty, doesn't it?)

Now, traveling back a couple of decades to the '40s, we have our first glimpse at Captain America in action:

Now, I know what you're thinking: that is not Chris Evans' sculpted jaw, his statuesque nose, his beautifully high cheekbones. And you're right: this is just a stunt double. That aside, I'm digging these period-piece looks, if only because they remind me of the opening sequence of Watchmen, which was by far the best part. More photos from each film can be found at The Daily Mail.
