The Golden Raspberry Awards — your favorite yearly celebration of terrible cinema — announced its nominations for 2010 last night. The results are more or less as expected: Worst Actor and Actress nods went out to Jennifer Aniston, Gerard Butler, Ashton Kutcher, and other familiar faces. A whopping four nominations were given to Jessica Alba (whom I didn't even realize was in four movies in 2010).
The real standout this year, however, is Twilight: Eclipse, with a total of nine nominations including one for each of its stars — Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner — and an overall for Worst Picture. Given the saga's outstanding performance in last year's Razzies, and the promise of a fourth Twilight movie this year, the series is in striking distance of a record — for the worst (or at least most Golden Raspberry-winning) movies of all time.
It's always the ones based on books, isn't it?
