A teaser trailer, by definition, only hints at the contents of an upcoming feature without dolling out plot specifics. You generally don't see a lot of footage from the actual movie, but instead get short out-of-context glimpses of what's to come. The perfect teaser relies on relaying the atmosphere of the finished product rather than spoiling second act reveals or how so-and-so looks as whoever-the-hell. So, there's not a whole lot of information to gleam from this teaser trailer for Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie, the first feature-length offering from the surreal comedy duo. Other than:
According to Funny or Die, the actual sort-of plot concept of the movie is as follows:
Tim and Eric are given a billion dollars to make a movie, but squander every dime… and the sinister Schlaaang corporation is pissed. Their lives at stake, the guys skip town in search of a way to pay the money back. When they happen upon a chance to rehabilitate a bankrupt mall full of vagrants, bizarre stores and a man-eating wolf that stalks the food court, they see dollar signs—a billion of them.
Which really means nothing. If you've seen anything else by T&E, you know concepts like "story" or "through-line" or "making sense" have no place in their world. Will they be able to take a style that works well in extremely-short 15-minute doses, expand it to six times the length, and not destroy the frontal cortex of everyone who sees it? Find out on March 2nd and/or January 27th of next year, the difference in dates depending on if you want you mind blown in front of strangers at the theater, or alone in the comfort of your own home.
