Upcoming sex scene with Jake Gyllenhaal makes Anne Hathaway cry

Though Anne Hathaway has appeared in sex scenes before, the actress "cried every single day" while filming intimate scenes with Jake Gyllenhaal for the upcoming Love and Other Drugs, in which she plays a sickly woman who sleeps with Gyllenhaal's Viagra salesman. (Jake Gyllenhaal: a Willy Loman for our time.) Hathaway told Vogue that playing characters whose "bodies are their currency" was difficult for her. "I had to lean so much more heavily on everyone around me than I'm used to. I'm used to pulling my own weight. But I totally fell apart."

Many a Nerve reader would have volunteered to take her place in bed with Gyllenhaal, especially after this already-iconic promotional poster came out. (Granted, it's Gyllenhaal's head Photoshopped onto a model's body, but do your genitals make those kinds of distinctions?) But a lot of Hathaway's appeal comes from her apparent reserve; one Anne Hathaway sex scene probably carries more weight for the internet than a thousand Lindsay Lohan crotch shots. Love and Other Drugs comes out November 24th.
