Jason Schwartzman

Rushmore and Bored to Death star Jason Schwartzman and his wife welcomed their first child, daughter Marlowe Rivers Schwartzman, into the world last month. But weeks before that, the Coconut Records chief swung by Amoeba Records to do a little record shopping for his baby-to-be's nursery, and filmed one of those What's in My Bag? videos that Amoeba does. And what he picked out is just what you would imagine Jason Schwartzman to pick out. In other words, the soundtrack for a future Wes Anderson project.

In the video, the son of the real-life Adrian from Rocky declares that the Beatles are his favorite band, and talks about balancing out the Fab Four with a little Stones, choosing Their Satanic Majesties Request for its baby-pleasing cover apparently. He shows love for Leonard Cohen and Harry Nilsson, and throws in some Dylan as his version of Baby Einstein. He seems to really have a sweet spot for '60s- and '70s-era pop. At the end, he makes a joke about buying the kid an album from Boris, the Japanese experimental rock band. The results of his curation are below.

Brian Eno – Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks
Bob Dylan – Desire
Alain Goraguer – La Planete Sauvage
The Beatles – Beatles '65
The Rolling Stones – Their Satanic Majesties
Donovan – Wear Your Love Like Heaven
Donovan – Barabajagal
Soundtrack – Gulliver's Travels: Beyond the Moon
Leonard Cohen – New Skin for the Old Ceremony
Harry Nilsson – Harry
