George Michael sentenced to eight weeks in jail

George Michael — no stranger to smoking pot and getting into car accidents — was sentenced to an eight-week jail sentence for smoking pot and getting into a car accident. The AP recounts Michael's history of DUI's (and with a dash of humor?):

In February 2006, he was found slumped at the wheel of his car at London's busy Hyde Park Corner. That April, he hit three parked cars while trying to maneuver out of a parking space, and admitted being "a terrible driver."

In October 2006, he was found slumped over the wheel of his car as it blocked an intersection. He pleaded guilty to driving while unfit through drugs and was sentenced to community service.

There is a rule to driving while stoned, and it's Don't Slump, You'll Look Like A High Person. As dumb and irresponsible as it is to drive while drunk or high, there's something charming about the way George Michael does it: the way he does it all the time, how he shrugs it off — "I'm a terrible driver," and of course, the imagine of him hitting three stationary cars while trying to pull out of parking spot.

Michael will reportedly only serve four weeks out of the eight weeks in jail and spend the remaining four on parole. This is pretty surprising considering the threshold has been crossed from Repeat DUI Offender to That Thing George Michael Just Does, but then again, he's very charming.
