As speculated, Amy Winehouse left behind several demo recordings and there's apparently enough material to piece together an entire album. The intensely personal album will supposedly chronicle her tumultuous marriage and subsequent separation in 2009 from Blake Fielder-Civil. In the aftermath of their union, he went to prison, while Amy endured a very public, and ultimately tragic, battle with drug addiction.
The record will undoubtedly make for a very bittersweet listen given her recent death. It's slated for release later next year with all the proceeds going towards a charity set up by Winehouse's dad, Mitch, to help people struggling with addiction. It's sad that it took her passing to spur the release of new music from the soulful singer, but at least we can be thankful that there are some recordings left behind after all.
