Pizza Hut-loving rap group Das Racist were detained and deported from the UK yesterday. The band was set to play their first-ever shows in England but instead were held for over eight hours in the airport before being carted back to Switzerland.
Being the agitating jokesters that they are, Das Racist caused a stir on their website claiming they were deported for their political beliefs (which we assume entail eating a lot of junk food). But guess what? They were just kidding — you know, like in that song of theirs. We should have known. Everything is one big "hahaha jk" with these guys.
They later retracted the statement in an updated post:
"We were removed due to paperwork and visa issues that are being enforced more strictly than they had been in the past. ASK MIA ABOUT IT, YA’LL"
But they still managed to get a few jabs in about the wretched conditions and awful catering services in UK customs. Like egg and cress sandwiches.
"We were held in a room with books, prayer rug and compass, television and remote, and these horrible sandwiches (cheese and onion, egg and cress, etc.). Also, “digestive biscuits’ along with Walker’s crisps (Salt & Vinegar, Salt)."
