I'm not sure why this exists but I'm really glad it does. Some twisted genius has recreated Joy Division's 1979 performance of "Transmission" on the BBC show John Peel: In Session Tonight  with Playmobil toys.

The superb stop-motion animation does wonders for Ian Curtis' twitchy dance moves (yeah, yeah, we know he had epilepsy). Still with a plastic, perma-smile Curtis has never looked so happy. The band totally deserved a cameo in Toy Story 3.

God I miss John Peel. But thanks to the wonders of the Intertubes, we can now enjoy a lot of those great performances from his Sessions shows.

Brilliant. I want to get that Playmobil set for my two-year-old.
