Watch: YouTube series perfectly mocks Zooey Deschanel

In a spot-on parody of the actress/singer, Hey! The Zooey Deschanel Show takes all the adorable and spacey qualities of Deschanel and puts them into three-minute clips. Starring Noël Kristi Wells as Ms. Deschanel, the show pokes fun at everyone's favorite manic pixie dream girl. Wells is a very believable Deschanel, but her tone and adorable lisp (something Deschanel can't always hide) make this webshow great. It's also uncanny how Wells mimics the She & Him singer's coos and "doo-ba-doops."
You really ought to watch all the episodes, but if you're strapped for time, start with this one, The Music Episode. It's pretty hysterical, especially when Wells talks about how much she loves records and wishes that someone would invent a mini version of records that you could take with you "when you're feeding pigeons."

Am I the only person who Zooey Deschanel has left with the enduring opinion that she's an oblivious, self-centered asshole? Really? Is it just me?
It's not just you. I've heard similar opinions from those who have encountered Ms. Deschanel.
Harsh! Take a valium or whatever the young crowd is doing today, lay back and have sweet dreams of rubbing your puppet face all over her crotch on teevee.
I've met her twice.. she's very sweet. Her normal voice is slightly annoying, but she's wonderful.

It's a decent imitation. I have to admit, I found Zooey rather enchanting until I say "500 Days of Summer," a truly tedious film

She claims she doesn't watch her her own movies. Oh really? I bet you don't listen to your own music either? "I just make all this stuff for you guys to enjoy! ME! Aren't I the best?! But I don't think so though!"...and wait for it....AWW. If shes as genuinely atypical as she claims, I'd be surprised but until then Ms. Deschanel please don't play the partially emotionally comatose, glazed eyed, neurotic. Some of us actually struggle to try to be normal while you mock it. Insulting and insufferable

Old post, but just wanted to add my two cents to say this girl is truly brilliant. She gently ribs Zooey's mannerisms but mostly makes fun of the hype that surrounds her, and essentially makes a new character out of this. Reportedly, Zooey has told people she's not happy with this parody, which I don't understand One hint that she didn't like it is public - a couple of days after the ZD Show started getting some press, she tweeted: "I think if you're a person who makes mean jokes, you had better be really, truly funny, otherwise you're just mean.". Personally, I think that's mean, to passive aggressively put down an up-and-coming comedienne who cares about you enough to make a loving parody. Wise up, Zooey.
