For a brief moment earlier this afternoon, Kanye West and Russell Simmons (clearly the coolest portion of the one-percent) occupied Wall Street. Yeezy was decked out in Givenchy and gold teeth, because nothing endears yourself to the common people like designer flannel and a mouthful of precious metal.
The most shocking part about the rapper's appearance at the protest was his uncharacteristic silence. Supposedly he greeted a few people, waved in solidarity and then fled the scene without making any outspoken comments. Which is weird considering this is a man that has made a career inverting the focus of major political and cultural events away from the people that made them possible and towards himself. I guess maybe now we can call off operation Occupy Kanye's Ego?
