NASCAR snubs Barack Obama’s White House invitation

Barack Obama's been having a tough go of it recently, but in what may be the most crushing blow of all, he's been totally blown off by NASCAR. Obama recently invited twelve top NASCAR drivers to a White House reception (as he does with most noted athletes), and only seven of them are actually going to show up.

According to NASCAR, drivers Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart are all missing out due to mysterious "schedule conflicts." Sick burn!

Now, I would necessarily jump right to the obvious conclusions about the kind of political affiliations NASCAR drivers might have – that would be wrong and presumptuous, of course –  but is it really normal  to treat a reception in your honor at the White House the same way you would treat your last resort party option on a Friday night?
