National polls show Obama beating Romney

Mitt Romney and Barack Obama

In the wake of actual good news about the state of the economy, a new poll shows Barack Obama solidly leading Mitt Romney in a hypothetical election race.

While Romney edges closer to finally getting his inevitable party nomination, a significant majority of Americans polled indicated that the more they find out about the candidate, the less they like him. Maybe this has something to do with the dog thing? Meanwhile, the president's approval ratings are the highest they've been since the death of Osama Bin Laden.

Thus, Obama currently leads Romney fifty-two to forty-three percent among Americans, and fifty-one to forty-five percent among registered voters.

Well, this all sounds pretty positive for Obama. And only nine months left until the actual election! What could possibly go wrong?
