Wisconsin Representative Sean Duffy, who is probably better known for starring in one of the umpteen seasons of The Real World than for any of his political work, is suffering from a pretty bad first-world problem. He's having a tough time making ends meet on his measley six-figure salary. Despite making three times more than the median income of his constituents, it turns out that a salary of $174,000 bucks a year isn't enough to get by these days. According to his estimations:
"I can guarantee you, or most of you, I guarantee that I have more debt than all of you. With six kids, I still pay off my student loans. I still pay my mortgage. I drive a used minivan. If you think I'm living high on the hog, I've got one paycheck. So I struggle to meet my bills right now. Would it be easier for me if I get more paychecks? Maybe, but at this point I'm not living high on the hog."
Check out the video below and watch as he frets about his finances at a Polk County town hall meeting earlier this year. The county GOP recently pulled the entire video from their website after the Washington Post posted a brief execerpt. They're also asking it be pulled from other websites, citing copyright infringement. Here's the minute-long clip they don't want you to see.
